About the Open Water Diving Course

The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world’s most popular scuba course, and has welcomed many people to the submarine world of diving. Doing this course in the Galapagos may give your a higher level of experience due to the slightly challenging currents and will give the opportunity to new divers to see marine creatures such as sharks, turtles, rays, invertebrates and many others.

We can offer the open water train dives in the dive site Academy Bay just 10 minutes away from Puerto Ayora, giving students a flexible schedule to start in the morning or afternoon, or on our normal Day Trips out of the Bay.

Ask your sales agents for more details about Academy Bay or Day Trips.

The course consists of three main parts:

  1. Knowledge Development in a classroom or online to understand the basic principles of scuba diving
  2. Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills
  3. Open Water Dives to review your skills and explore!

If you’ve always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, discover new adventures or simply see the wondrous world beneath the waves, this is where it starts.
